Modernist Maverick

The Architecture of William L. Pereira

“This show demonstrates a rather daring, highly imaginative design, which breaks with the tradition of academic, pedantic presentation of most architectural exhibitions.” Edward Goldman, Art Critic, KCRW, Los Angeles

This interpretive exhibition explores the architecture, urbanism, and design work of American architect William L. Pereira.

From San Francisco's iconic Transamerica Tower to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the University of California, San Diego's Geisel Library, and the master plan for California's Irvine Ranch and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Pereira's designs have been far-flung and often grand in scale.

The exhibition design strives to be as irreverent and fearless as Pereira's futuristic formal language, which oscillates between refinement and visual drama.
